    This introductory CBT course, is a fast-track, purely self-directed way to learn CBT theory and skills. This course will help develop an understanding of your own psychology and teaches you to apply CBT to yourself and others.

    This course is open to everyone, both those new to CBT and also those looking to develop their skills further. There is no pre-requisite requirements. After completing this course you will be able to use the principles of CBT in your daily life and in your work or interactions with others.

    The School of Psychology's Online Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is accredited by Continuous Professional Development (CPD) UK. It also holds supplementary accreditation with the International Institute of Complimentary Therapies (IICT). Our CBT Certificate is a comprehensive 5-module course, which covers over 80 units of learning across the 5 modules. This course will provide you with a sound, foundational knowledge base of CBT theory and skills. In brief, the course syllabus covers:

    Module 1 - Theoretical Underpinnings
    Module 2 - The CBT Model and Foundations
    Module 3 - CBT Process and Interventions
    Module 4 - CBT Applications
    Module 5 - Professional Practice

    This course requires no pre-requisite qualification. It may be beneficial for students to have some prior knowledge of basic counselling skills however not essential as this will be touched upon in the course. This course will take approximately 100 hours to complete and involves a considerable amount of self-practice exercises and personal reflection.

    This course is purely self-directed and self-assessed at the end of each module. There is no prescribed tutor support for this course however at The School of Psychology we want to ensure you feel supported during your studies therefore support is available from an experienced tutor/clinician if required. 

    After completing this course you can apply the skills in your daily life, in your employment and with others. Whether or not you have previous experience in the field of therapy, this course will furnish you with the basic CBT skills to enable you to apply the principles and techniques either as part of your professional practice or in your personal life.

    You will receive a formal School of Psychology Online Ltd certificate on successful completion of the course.
